They’ve dropped the existing Maternity Immunisation Allowance and replaced it with a threat to cut Family Tax Benefits for parents who fail to immunise their kids.
But, conscientious objection to vaccination will still be recognised so parents can still get the FTB, even if they don’t immunise. They just have to sign a form saying they’ve heard the arguments and still don’t want to vaccinate but still want the cash.
Short story – the federal government has dropped the Maternity Immunisation Allowance and called this a health incentive.
